NOTIFICATION

This is to notify that all the vehicles registered hereafter shall not be permitted to affix with embossed registration plates. All the registration plates shall be in plain text for easy identification and uniformity as per the approved standards.

The front and rear registration plate shall be permitted as per the size provision of the vehicle type and letters should be clearly visible. The text shall be written as XX-X-XXXXX (e.g BP-1-A0001, BG-1-B0001, BT-1-C0001, and so). The road worthiness certificate shall be issued only if the registration plate is affixed as per the approved standards.

All concerned are therefore, requested to comply with this notification. Non compliance shall be dealt with as per the provisions of Road Safety and Transport Act and Regulations -1999.

This is for general information of all concerned that the one day refresher course for the novice drivers (learner license holder) has been outsourced to the following private firms w.e.f 1 June 2011:

1.M/s. USD Driving School,Thimphu (Tel:02-339005/17110863)

2.M/s. Keasang Driving School,Thimphu(Tel:02-331352/17607933)

Therfore, all learner license holders may contact the above mention driving school for further details.

However,RSTA offices will continue to conduct both theory and practical driving test as usual.Therfore,please note that the driving test for the learner license holders will be conducted only after attending the training course in any of the driving schools.
